Anna Friel – BAFTA/LA’s 14th Annual Awards

A low-riding loose chignon or knot like this one, especially accompanied by this classic wave and dip to the front, steps out of the 1930’s. A chic style is born from the inspiration of a memorable decade gone by.

Katherine Heigl – “27 Dresses” Premiere

Apparently becoming her signature formal look, once again Katherine Heigl, has her hair rolled into place up on the back for a very chic design. The top has lift given by cleverly wrapping the side sections around into a pinned curl and then brushing the fringe back onto it for a filtered disguise.

Long twists continue to be in style and stars like Jennifer Love Hewitt are wearing them for all their after hour events. Vertical sections are dried smoothed and then wrapped in pinned coils and product or they are curled into place with irons and left to fall naturally.

Looking very chic, this formal look on Amanda Bynes was gathered low and looks like it was adorned with a decorative barrette. Front sections were strategically placed to tuck into the low riding do, having loose tendrils artistically pulled to beautifully frame her face.

The winter formals have begun and it’s not too late to check out these styles for a Valentine wedding approaching or even the prom. We love this look on Halle Berry brought up in a ponytail and the length spread, then pinned fashionably all around the gathering.

Amy Adams has an alluring look brushed back on one side while the other is volumized to its fullest potential. The neat trick about flatirons with round backs, is coercing the hair in directions only limited by your imagination.
